Greeting delegates,
My name is Caleb K. and it is my honor to serve as your ICJ President for SEOMUN XXVIII. As a senior currently attending Seoul International School (SIS), I have been a passionate member of my school’s MUN club experiencing various international and national conferences that have opened my eyes to the world of diplomacy. Through each conference I learned invaluable lessons of public speaking, argumentation, and the ability to make compromises which shaped my values beyond the committee room.
In particular, my experience in the ICJ has opened my eyes to the fascinating role international legal systems play in facilitating global order, a passion which I hope to share with you all. In this conference, I look forward to facilitating rigorous debate concerning pressing issues from legal perspectives, hearing the presentation of court arguments and stimulations of cross examinations.
During debate, I look forward to hearing passionate yet respectful arguments, attention grabbing speeches, and consistent participation within the trial proceedings. While some of you may not be familiar with ICJ procedures, your chairs will do their best to guide you through this upcoming experience. Please reach out to us if you have any questions and we look forward to seeing you all in the courtroom. Thank You.
