Dear Delegates of the ECOSOC Committee,

It is with great honor and enthusiasm that I welcome you to this year’s iteration of SEOMUN XXVIII. This will be my fourth year of MUN, and having experienced being a delegate, chair, and secretariat, I understand the unique blend of challenge and opportunity that this experience offers. MUN is not merely about debating policy; it is about cultivating empathy, critical thinking, and diplomacy, skills that are vital for addressing the complex economic and social issues our world faces today. I am excited to embark on this journey with each of you as we strive to uphold the spirit of collaboration and innovation.

As President of ECOSOC, my foremost wish for this conference is that every delegate approaches the committee with an open mind and a commitment to meaningful dialogue. This body represents a diverse range of perspectives and interests, and I encourage you to engage respectfully and creatively with one another. Our goal is to produce resolutions that are not only ambitious but also pragmatic and inclusive, reflecting the interconnected nature of economic development and social progress.

I’m eager to see the dedication and passion each of you brings to this committee. While I expect well-researched positions, clear and persuasive speeches, and strong negotiation skills, what matters most is your willingness to collaborate genuinely as you tackle these complex issues. Having experienced firsthand how powerful and transformative MUN can be when you fully commit, I know this conference is more than just a simulation; it’s a chance to grow as leaders and problem-solvers. Together, I’m confident we’ll develop solutions that go beyond debate room walls and inspire meaningful change in the real world.

Let us all commit to making this ECOSOC session a memorable and fruitful experience. I am excited to meet you all and work alongside you toward a successful conference. If you have any questions or concerns, Wishing you all the best as you prepare for the upcoming conference.

Best,

Angela M.

President of ECOSOC
