DEputy assistant president
My name is Daniel Huibeom L. , and it is my great pleasure to welcome you to this year’s Model United Nations conference. Serving as your committee president is a tremendous opportunity and honour, and I’m eager to participate and witness diverse ideas, meaningful debates, and diplomatic growth that will unfold over the course of this year’s SEOMUN.
Drawing back to my first-ever SEOMUN experience, I remember I was a timid delegate at the time, and I spent most of my time trying to understand how everything functioned. Since then, MUN has become a space where I’ve grown in confidence, learned how to express my ideas clearly, and developed a genuine interest in global affairs and international issues.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of attending several international and domestic conferences in different roles—from delegate to chair—and what I’ve come to value most is the people and the environment. It’s the conversations, disagreements, bonding, and moments of collaboration that make MUN worthwhile. I hope this committee will be a space where everyone feels encouraged to speak up, challenge certain ideas or assumptions, and engage with both the issues and each other with respect and sincerity.
I’m super thrilled to see what each of you brings to the table. Whether you’re new to MUN or more experienced, I encourage you to make the most of this opportunity—not just to debate, but to learn and grow. Let’s make this a memorable and productive conference.
Sincerely,
Daniel Huibeom L.
